Before working with Chesapeake Interpreting, each interpreter undergoes a screening process, working at an event under the tutelage of our owner, Heather Mewshaw. Our accomplished team is comprised of interpreters that have obtained their Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certifications and participate in facilitating the growth of the field. You can find our interpreters teaching sign language interpreting courses at local colleges and universities, facilitating workshops about the profession at regional, national and international conferences and mentoring up and coming interpreters in a variety of settings.
